Swaythling Baptist Church

We meet every Sunday morning at 10.30am for a time of worship and to hear from God's word. Our worship is relaxed and informal and we draw upon a wide range of songs and hymns.

Our services generally last for a little over an hour. The sermon is usually recorded and can be found under the "talks" tab on the main menu of this web site.

We welcome people of all ages - there is a group for primary school children who are divided for some activities into

  • Little Bubbles: 3- 5 years
  • Big Bubbles:  5 - 11 years

They leave the main service after the first part of the service.

We also have a creche for the under 3s.

All are welcome to join us for fairly traded tea and coffee after the service when we also have a prayer and listening team available.

We have a communion service on the third Sunday in the month. All those who love the Lord are welcome to join us around His table.

Our Sunday evenings together vary from week to week. We may meet for prayer in the Church lounge or for open house in someone's home. We have many people with the gift of hospitality.

Sometimes we meet to sing "Songs of Praise" with the residents of one of the sheltered housing schemes close to us.

Our small groups meet at various times throughout the week - all are welcome to join a group which generally meets once a week for food, study and fellowship in someone's home. Let us know if you would like to join in.

We have a Parents' group which meets on Friday afternoons. Sometimes the "boys" have a night out together or the "girls" may have a night in.

Messy Church meets on the first Saturday of the month from 2-4pm.

On the second Monday of each month, the lunch club meets to offer hot food and fellowship for local residents. There is also a ladies' lunch club which meets monthly at a local restaurant.

The Music Group meets for practice most Wednesday evenings.
